Planetary Parade Graces Bangladesh’s Dawn Sky

Before the morning call to prayer, a grandfather and granddaughter stood on their rooftop, gazing eastward. “The planets are gathering,” he explained, “not because they’re close together in space, but because from our view on Earth, they appear aligned in their orbits around the Sun.”

Between 4:00-4:45 AM of 3rd June in Bangladesh, this illusion – called a planetary parade – unfolded. Though separated by millions of kilometers, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn appeared clustered together. Mars glowed red, Saturn revealed its tilted rings, and Jupiter outshone them all.

Planetery parade occurs when orbital cycles are synchronized temporarily from our point of view – Jupiter’s 12-year orbit crossing Saturn’s 29-year cycle. The granddaughter gasped as the cosmic clockwork unfolded.

This celestial event required only clear skies and an eastern view – a fleeting alignment that doesn’t happen often with such perfection for years to come, reminding us of the clockwork precision of our solar system. Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Uranus, Neptune, and Saturn will again be in a planetary parade on August 10, 2025. So, mark your calendars and don’t miss out on this cosmic marvel!
